Thinking abt Grell x Ciel

(Obvs cw for large age gaps, also brief mention of omo)

AGH I’ve been a fan of this ship for years. It’s so unbelievably rare and I can barely find ANY fanfics or fanart or anything with this ship.

Yeaaaaaars ago (maybe even 10 by now) there was this blog that did Kuro art, and a lot of it involved the omo kink. That also kinda got me into the rabbit hole of that kink as well—

BUT ANYWAYS I remember them briefly mentioning that ship and I ended up sending in a request to see if they had any interest in drawing Grell and Ciel together. However I think I either left Tumblr soon after, or they did, ‘cause I lost track of them and have been unable to find them since.

I remember their art style distinctly but not anything specific enough to be able to find their old or new art, which is kinda heartbreaking BUT I DIGRESS—

ANYWAYS I’m such a sucker for age gap ships, power imbalances, pursuer x pursued, human x inhuman, etc.

I really like the idea of Grell being super into Ciel and therefore intensely jealous of Sebastian. Maybe they don’t even realize that they’re feeling jealousy towards the butler rather than the Earl, wanting to be in Sebastian’s place with Ciel looking so admiringly at them.

Grell very much gives me the vibes of someone with impulse control issues and issues with discerning their own emotions at times. So I could absolutely see them getting infuriated at the way that Ciel and Sebastian trounce around together, always within arm’s reach of each other.

But also, who would assume that Grell had eyes for Ciel rather than the dashing demon? Who would begin to suspect that Grell’s lashing out and attempts at drawing out a reaction was for Ciel?

I honestly don’t know whether Grell would figure it out before anyone else did. Maybe they’d start to suspect it a bit when they see Sebastian on his own one day and Grell doesn’t have much of an interest (or much pleasure) from riling Sebastian up. It’s more fun when the demon’s master is there…

Then Grell sees Ciel on his own one day (maybe Ciel is undercover and Sebastian is either keeping his distance or busy doing something else for Ciel) and their heart skips a beat at the prospect of bothering lil ol’ Ciel alone.

Which makes them start to think.

I could see Sebastian being VERY upset about finding that out (“how dare a grim reaper set their eyes on my meal”) or perhaps somewhat maliciously amused (“they have no chance with Ciel, he’s already entirely mine. they can fawn and whine all they like, they won’t get a single taste of my young master”)

I feel like that would shift the dynamic of Sebastian and Grell a bit but not entirely. They still spat, fight, etc, but Grell’s intent isn’t on Sebastian anymore, it’s on Ciel. Which also makes Sebastian more possessive and violent, which Grell loves and hates in equal measure (they love the fun of the viciousness, but they hate that Sebastian succeeds in keeping them from their goal)

Heheheheheheh now I’m imagining Ciel and Grell standing side by side, and observers see them and double-take, thinking “OH is that Ciel and Madam Red? But didn’t she..? Oh wait, that’s not Madam Red, who is that?”

Meanwhile Ciel is glowering at nothing in particular and Grell has a smug, self-satisfied grin that’s all teeth.

OH WAIT MAYBE!!! Maybe one day there’s an issue and despite Sebastian’s utter distaste for the idea, he’s forced to leave Ciel in Grell’s care for a short period of time (perhaps Undertaker is causing mischief or something and Sebastian needs to deal with something without Ciel with him. Grell is the only option for whatever reason, perhaps there is information involved that humans aren’t allowed to know, which means that the servants and everyone else can’t get involved.

Grell is SO excited about the thought of spending time alone with Ciel, who is seething about being left in the care of a grim reaper—especially this one.

Hehehehehehehe, I've liked K-pop for 4 (??) years now, I own a couple of albums and went to the IVE concert in Australia. Best day of my life, comparable to my birth. My ult groups are Loona (Loona is an encompassing term of the re-debuts and everything, who knows what's going on in loona island) and IVE. I love nwjns too, but god all the drama going on with them is too much. Other groups I stan: Red Velvet, Triples, New jeans, Le sserafim, Rescene, illit, gidle and more that I can't remember.

Music (In General)

Nirvana is my favourite band of all time, why wasn't I born in the 80's 😔. I mostly follow Grunge, Rock and Punk music as well as other alternative music genres. While the arm cuff is from Aranea the necklace and chocker are actually from Damara because in my version the two are actually friends so she gifted vamp the chocker and necklace

I imagen they really like jewelry so i imagen she has a shit ton of them arms, hands, ears, any type of jewelry they most likely own them

Porrim likes helping out others with trying different type of fashion styles and figuring out what makes them feel the best. Basicly she just likes giving a lot of fashion advices for everyone

I imagen that they own multiple sketchbooks that are filled with fashion sketches. They like to draw them a lot during their free time. Some of the dancestors draw their own fashion sketch for fun and Porrim keeps them in their hive to later redraw them and then some day to make them a actual outfit.

I gave Kurloz more wavy horns because i just imagen that from Gamzee to The Grand Highblood the horns just become more and more wavy it is kinda canon but i wanted there to be more of a noticable difference between Gamzees and Kurloz horns

I tried to make its makeup more look like a actual skull because it just seemed way too together like how the eye part were basicly just together looking more like a mask rather then a skull and also the cheeks part were too far away from the mouth

I made Kurloz have eyebags because i believe that clown has way too many nightmares because of what they did to Meulin and end up staying up way too much because of that and ended up having heavy eyebags

Both the necklaces and bracalets are from its matesprit and moirail the leo necklace is from Meulin and the gemini necklace is from Mituna. Purple bracelet and the silly bandz (the silly bandz is a cat) is from Meulin while the red and blue one is from Mituna

4 (What character did you get attached to the quickest?) Remembering back to the first time I read SoC, I... I think it was Inej. Inej and Wylan, bc for both of them they felt like fish out of water; even if they'd learned to "swim", they still had foundations and morals they were cagey to break and did things they constantly regretted, whereas kaz was broken by the barrel, matthias and nina were soldiers that had seen their fair share of violence, and jesper was just playing it all off for laughs in the hopes he wouldn't break himself. inej and wylan felt really properly Morally Good in a way that drew me to them at first (before jesper stole my heart eventually)

17 (Character Misconceptions) not to be kuweipilled again but god. the people who get weirdly hatey abt kuwei being a "homewrecker" are so weird to me. what do you mean he's like 16 he wrecked nothing. This Guy just got out of ice hell prison where he was Sure he was going to die by execution and then all of a sudden he's rescued by a handful of kids just like him, and a couple of them are really attractive, and he's riding off the high of Thinking He Was Going To Die so ofc he's gonna shoot his shot. have a little fun. and honestly he deserves it! yes, kissing somebody without their "consent" wasn't cool, and I do think he probably felt bad about it after. but also Jesper was the one who couldn't tell them apart. kuwei was just out here. ok off my kuwei soapbox now. be nice to him that is all

See, now I'm thinking about desire demons again, and like... aside from the fact that yeah the desire demon design just in general isn't all that sexy (please... more creative fanservice than just shoving naked boobs at the camera...), there's no actual reason for them to look like that? And it actually weakens their overall effect as creatures that manipulate humans using their desires. I'm bored so I'm actually going to go down the list of notable desire demons as listed on the wiki to see what they actually offer, and spoiler alert: most of them... aren't actually offering sex, or if they are it's as one part or one option of what they're offering, not the whole thing. So, starting from the top (and leaving out Yevena and Vereveel from Broken Circle, Xebenkeck from Forbidden Knowledge, Hanker from Kind of Want and the unnamed desire demon from Malcolm's Will since none of those offer anything in particular other than a fight):

The desire demon in Arl of Redcliffe offered Connor the power to save his father, and if the Warden negotiates with her she offers the secrets of blood magic, the love of those around them (mechanically is a +20 approval boost for one companion, which seems like a waste given how easy it is to gain approval in DAO but whatever), something to increase their talents (mechanically a tome that gives an additional talent/spell), or sex. So sex isn't off the table, but since it's the only option on the list with no actual benefit to the player I imagine most people don't go for that one, except maybe for roleplay reasons (I'm sure some people's Wardens—and I say this with zero judgement, if someone wants to play a total asshole then I just hope they have fun with it—are the sort that would absolutely choose to bang a desire demon in exchange for a small child's freedom). ...Actually I might make a poll about that, I'm kind of curious what options people go for now.

The desire demon in Broken Circle who ensorcelled that Templar offered him a family life and happiness, although it's unclear if she asked him or just did it for her own reasons. It's a little hard to judge the exact details of the arrangement since he's completely under her control, but it seems like a safe bet that if sex is involved in the deal it's as a part of the "happy family life" illusion, not as the main draw.

It's a little unclear what Kitty offered Amalia, but it seems to have been friendship of some sort? Although it's also possible that there was no actual bargain involved and Kitty was just being nice so that Amalia would come back often enough to give Kitty the chance to get free and then possess her, which is her ultimate goal. When dealing with the Warden Kitty offers a nice staff in exchange for letting her take Amalia (side note, did not know you can get a staff out of Kitty (hehehehehehehe- sorry, I'm very mature I promise) by trading Amalia for it). So overall no offers of sex in this one.

Moving on to DA2, Allure from the Exiled Prince DLC offered Lady Harimann power in exchange for feeding on her husband, son and daughter and offers the same to Hawke and co if they let her go, and while there is some element of sex in the feeding (Lord Harimann, anyone?), Flora just gets drunk in the cellar and yells at thin air and Brett starts trying to turn people into statues by covering them in molten gold, so again it's not an automatically sexual thing.

Caress in Night Terrors does offer Aveline an illusion of Wesley, but that's more about her failed desire to save and protect him than any physical desire for him and (based on the wiki, I've never brought Aveline on this quest myself) Caress's aim in using him seems to be more getting Aveline to turn on Hawke by blaming them and their family for his death. Meanwhile she offers Isabela a ship and crew, feeding off her desire to be a proper captain again, which is a decidedly non-sexual deal to offer a character who the game sexualizes as constantly as it does Isabela. So again, no sexual offers in sight here.

And of course Imshael, the only male desire demon we see (other than Herren if we count him) and for what I'm sure are totally unrelated reasons the only one wearing actual clothes. Very slick, Bioware. Not. In TME he offers to let Michel influence the dreams of men in exchange for him sacrificing someone as a host for Imshael, and in DAI he offers the Inquisitor riches, power or virgins in exchange for his life and freedom, but if you ask for virgins he... doesn't have any (or if Cole is in the party he could find one but admits you probably wouldn't like the result) and gives you a rune instead. So much like in Arl of Redcliffe sex is presented as an option he's willing to make a deal for (and I'm sure the fact that he's offering to find people for you to have sex with instead of offering to have sex with you himself has nothing to do with him being the only male desire demon, see previous point re Bioware's slickness or lack thereof), but it's not the only choice on the list.

So out of the eleven major desire demons we've had run-ins with, five don't offer any deals that we know of (Xebenkeck at least probably did based on her age and power but we have no real details on what they were so she doesn't count), three offer deals with no sexual component, one offers a deal that ends with a sexual component for the demon's sake that does not involve the deal-maker (since Lord Harimann doesn't seem to have made any deal with Allure, she's just feeding on him, whatever that entails), and two offer sex in exchange for getting their way but also offer other options in case the protagonist would prefer something a little more useful than getting laid. So that's 3/11—27.27%—that offer deals involving sex in some way, or a little over a quarter. So if most of the deals we see desire demons make don't involve sex, why is their design so obviously supposed to be seen as sexy? It would actually make more sense for them to try to look like normal people, because the name of the game for a desire demon is manipulation. If you see a purple topless demon lady with nipple piercings, you are immediately going to be on your guard! That's suspicious! Why are you going to willingly make a deal with this thing! Bioware got so fixated on the idea of sexy demon ladies that they missed the bit where their desire demons don't work in a way where that design makes sense for them! Not only are the desire demons blatantly designed the way they are because Bioware wanted to shake some boobs at the camera, it actually weakens them as enemies because creatures that work largely through manipulation would not want to immediately look suspicious.

─ Summary: you love cute little animals and you brutally punish the abusers, drawing the attention of a certain redhaired pirate

You were a free soul on the vast sea, free, brash, hyperactive and completely impulsive. You didn't want to consider yourself a pirate but… you had gotten a bounty on your head just for causing minor damage to a few islands. Considering the minor damage was almost dismembering several people for mistreating cute stray kittens, you didn't mind being considered a bloody pirate as long as those adorable animals had a place to call home, yes, you traveled on your little boat full of cats until you got them a house.

How you came to be part of the Kid's crew was not much of a mystery, you were at your thing on some random island, cutting off a couple of hands for more cute kittens that needed help, seeing you smile while cutting limbs, laughing like a madwoman completely covered in blood, Kid liked that brutality, like a stubborn child who sees something he likes, he takes it.

Then from one day to the next you found yourself aboard the Victoria Punk, you didn't care much, the only thing that changed is that now you were surrounded by testosterone, punks and goths with pierced nipples. All you wanted was to travel the world and you were doing it alone with a group of men, most of the time you didn't listen to Kid's orders, which led to many arguments that Killer had to pacify.

The blonde should let you cut out his captain's tongue, since he just kidnapped you without knowing the kind of person you were and you caused so many confrontations, still he couldn't blame you, in the end you ended up being a good addition to the team, like you were a missing piece, when you weren't yelling or running from the men you had annoyed it was quite calming to be with you. You had this weird energy like orange cats.

The bad part is that you weren't going to abandon those cats, oh lord no, you didn't give a shit if any of the others had allergies, you were going to keep looking for a home for those cats you found, you formed a legion of cats that snuggled against you while they hissed at the men on the ship, except for Wire, he was the only one who could get close to the kittens without bleeding to death trying to caress them.

You know that explosive chihuahua energy that stares with its teeth out? Heat had that vision of you when you got scolded for causing too much trouble and you couldn't complain because you didn't want to blow up on Killer, he stood up for you when you wanted to get the kittens on the boat so swallow your pride and take the scolding for now.

Of course, that didn't make you think or stop playing pranks on your shipmates, you were still a fool who liked to cause trouble for your own amusement, you had a lot of energy in your body and you needed to discharge it somehow, when you were traveling alone you were always bored until you reached an island, now you have fun twenty-four hours a day.

"HEHEHEHEHEHEHE!"

Killer watched as your body ran around the deck laughing like a witch, he simply thought you were running to exercise your legs a bit, but his eyes caught a bright flash between your hands that made him worry.

"Let me see what you have there!"

"A KNIFE!"

"NO-"

Thus began a chase that ended in Kid's workshop, lots of flying metal and several cuts because of you, they scolded you again and forbade you to take any type of sharp object, not for your integrity, but for that of others.

The worst part was when they wanted to stay on an island for several days, even though everyone in the crew was free to do whatever they wanted in that 'off days' period and as much as Kid liked to see you get blood on your face in your battles, you couldn't just get lost on an island and make a damn show just an hour after getting off the ship.

"I'm not wearing that shit."

"These are captain's orders."

"Who?"

"Captain's orders, you idiot."

"No, who the hell asked you?"

"You little shit-"

You didn't have time to run, mostly because Heat had pinned you down with Wire, you felt betrayed by your cat petting friend, now you were wearing a stupid harness for children who get lost, but you weren't embarrassed, it just irritated you not being able to go where you wanted.

Your revenge that day was to bark, yes, literally bark, at the women who approached the group of four Kid's crew officers, since they always ended up flirting with some girls or looking to have a little one-night stand, oh no, they wouldn't have any of that today as long as they have you tied up with that damn thing.

“Are ye sure bout this Uma?” Harry asked, glancing between the exposed skin on Uma’s neck, which was quickly becoming revealed as she pulled down her top until one side slid off her shoulder, revealing her chest and collar bones.

Uma nodded at him, not looking at him quite yet “When am i not? You need to feed Harry, and as we’ve discovered, my blood gets you by the longest, so my blood is what you’ll get.” Harry was hardly listening anymore, eyes catching onto the bitemarks on Uma’s inner left breast. he licked his lips, feeling his teeth grow as his hunger did. and not just for Uma’s blood. “Harry.” his head snapped up, looking into Uma’s eyes “My eyes are up here dumb dumb”

Harry laughed softly, shaking his head “If yer sure Uma” he muttered, rolling up his sleeves and walking up to Uma, drawing her hair away so he could access her neck without getting blood on her hair. Uma turned on her heel, her back now against his chest, they both found it easier for Harry to go from behind, so she didn't see him bite and he could reach her vein easier and quicker.

Harry kissed her shoulder, licking an old bite mark, smirking as Uma shivered at his touch, his arm snaking around her waist and holding her against him “Harry” Uma breathed out, an order to hurry up. Harry just chuckled, his fangs growing to their full length as he sucked on the spot he planned to draw blood from “relax mo Leannan” Harry cooed into Uma’s ear, smirking as she shivered again, leaning into his chest. “jus’ havin a wee bit of fun”

Uma let out a small grumble, gasping as Harry’s hand cradled her head and tilted it to the side, kissing the spot once more and then biting into her skin. Harry groaned as her blood flooded into his mouth, dripping down his chin and her chest. “fuck-” Uma cursed, feeling her cheeks heat up rapidly as she felt Harry’s tongue caress her skin, licking up all her blood. 

her hands smacked against his arm and hand, breathing heavily as Harry drank her blood. ‘god this should not be as hot as it is’ Uma thought, closing her eyes as a wave of heat ran through her body, squeezing her legs together as Harry’s thumb caressed her cheek and waist, squeezing her hips in hopes to comfort her and tell her he was almost done. 

Harry swallowed down the last mouthful of Uma’s rich and delicious blood, licking the new bite wound to clean her skin before he pulled back, breathing heavily to regain his senses. he nearly pounced back onto her, but for very different reasons as she leaned heavily against him, her chest rising heavily as she gasped for breath. “are ye okay?” Harry asked gently, curling his arms around her waist and arm and pulling her into his side, her head resting against his shoulder. she turned, looking into his eyes which were gleaming bright red.

she smirked, her cheeks burning as her eyes flashed, Harry flushing as he realized what was going on ���Uma i just-maybe we should-WOAH!” Uma pushed Harry onto her bed, climbing onto his lap and getting into his face, her arms on other side of his head “all righ’ then” Harry rasped out, smirking as Uma kissed him hard, her hands grabbing at his shirt as he let Uma take back control, all to happy to be under her command once again.

EDIT AFTER WRITING: I mean't for this to be shorter but it ended up at 1098 words hehe... Oh well!

Taka wandered around the school looking for his boyfriend. eventually he strolled into the rec room and spotted him sitting In the corner of the room, pouting like a damn child.

He went to approach him but Makoto pulled him aside and warned him that he was really grumpy today, and that he had already tried to start a fight with each one of his friends in that room.

"Thank you for your concern, Makoto! But I know how to handle him!" Taka reassured with a bright smile, shrugging off his hand and approaching the sulking biker.

Mondo glanced up at his beaming boyfriend for a split second before going back to sketching something in his notepad... something Taka has encouraged him to do when he wasn't feeling very social. He found it calmed him down.

Typically he would sketch simple things like scenery, but sometimes he would sketch out projects he wanted to make when he got better at carpentry.

"Hello, Kyoudai!" Taka greeted cheerfully, sitting down on the floor next to him. "I heard you aren't In a great mood today, Do you want to talk about It?"

"No." He mumbled, his eyes never leaving the paper.

Taka glanced down at the paper just in time for Mondo to scribble out the drawing out of frustration and flip the sheet to a new one aggressively. (same Mondo same)

The hall monitor gently put his hand on Mondo's to stop him from drawing a new image. "Mondo, Why did you cross out that one? It looked good."

"No It didn't." He huffed, setting the pad and pen down. "It's fucking trash, just like all my other ones."

"Hey! don't say that!"

"It's fuckin' true. I just need to face the facts that I'll never be good enough to be a carpenter..."

Taka frowned, he hated seeing Mondo get in these moods. He might not show it all the time but he was actually really self conscious about carpentry and showing people his concepts and creations.

He racked his brain for the best response, and after a moment of silence, he knew just how to deal with his bad mood.

Taka snuck his arm around Mondo's waist, resting his hand on his side. "You know that's not true, Kyoudai. Whoever said those horrible things Is very wrong!"

Mondo didn't even sense the danger he was in. He just remained silent, brushing off Taka's attempts to make him feel better.

"Come on, Kyoudai... Where's that smile?" He cooed, squeezing his side.

The biker tensed, biting the inside of his cheek to fight the urge to smile and giggle like a dork. "You're not getting It." He pressed out from behind gritted teeth.

Taka took this as a challenge.

He also took note of the playful glimmer in Mondo's eyes when he said this, welcoming the challenge.

"Well," Taka stopped squeezing his side, smiling at the brief look of disappointment on Mondo's face. "Then I guess I might as well not ever try this,"

He poked at both of his bottom ribs at the same time, causing the bigger man to jerk in surprise.

"And I suppose this button would be useless too." He prodded at his stomach, drawing a sound similar to a whine in response.

"T-Taka! Knock It ohohohohoff! hehehehehe!" He broke out into a fit of giggles when the poking and prodding to his stomach increased rapidly.

"This Is probably useless too." Taka sighed dramatically as he slipped his fingers under the Bikers arms, wiggling them lightly.

Mondo squealed, falling over onto his side as his giggles picked up.

"Nahahaha! Tahahahahaka! Heheheheheheh!"

Taka smiled at the way Mondo practically laid still for him, silently welcoming the tickles. "Yes?" He hummed softly.

"Ihihihit tihihihickles!"

"Astute observation, My ticklish Kyoudai~" He cooed teasingly, continuing to lightly tickle his boyfriend.

This went on for a bit, until Mondo was gasping between giggles. Taka could tell he had enough so he ceased his teasing tickles.

Mondo laid there for a few minutes recovering, he was still giggling lightly as he caught his breath. He had a big grin plastered on his face still.

"Do you feel better now?" Taka asked gently, to which Mondo nodded.

"Yea... Thanks, babe." He said quietly, sitting up and wiping away the tears from the corners of his eyes.

"Now that you're calm, what got you so upset in the first place?" Hiro spoke up, reminding the two that they weren't actually alone in the room.

"Yeah, It's not like you to just pick fights randomly anymore." Chihiro agreed.

Mondo sighed as his friends came over to join the two in the floor. "Ah, I was sketching some possible shit to build and Byakuya and Hifumi were making fun of it." He explained. "Hifumi kept comparing my drawings to his fuckin' manga, and Byakuya was insulting it."

"Well first off, Byakuya's full of shit anyway." Leon scoffed. "Hiro and I will deal with him."

"Yeah!"

Chihiro picked up the abandoned art pad and lightly dragged a graphite pencil across the clean piece of paper, revealing most of the picture Mondo crossed out.

"Mondo, From what I can see of it... This drawing is really good." Chihiro complimented. Hiro, Makoto, and Leon all looked over the small programmer's shoulder to look at it too.

"Yeah! It's a dresser right?" Makoto asked, Mondo nodded silently in response. "It's nice!"

Leon grinned. "Ooh, that would look really good In like, maybe a mahogany wood??"

"What's Mahogany?" Hiro asked, receiving an eyeroll from Leon.

"Mondo... When you feel comfortable with It, I would love for you to make me a new desk or something!" Chihiro smiled cheerfully.

"Ooh! or a guitar case!"

As his friends threw out suggestions and praised him, he couldn't help but smile and look over at Taka. He felt a lot better, he even got inspired by his friends for a few new projects and began jotting them down.

While he did, Taka looked at the dresser concept fondly. Something caught his eye in the vague details that were saved by Chihiro's pencil trick.

Their initials were engraved in the side of it, in a tiny heart shape. Mondo planned to make this for their house one day whenever they decided to move in together.

Taka couldn't help but smile lovingly at his dork of a boyfriend, who was none the wiser that he'd caught that detail.

Chihiro put a hand on Taka's shoulder, silently letting him know they saw it too. "You're really lucky." they said quietly to Taka.

"Yeah, I really am."

This is legit how I come up with new storylines and things. This is just a copy/paste of something I sent my girlfriend when I was in the middle of Figuring A Thing Out.

Featuring a new character, Hue and a drawing of him! Mostly this is about Blaze tho, and some stuff about John too. It sorta goes all over the place - the moment it seems like ‘oh this is what this post is about’ it switches on you.

Warnings: Lots of “so anyway”, no proofreading, completely filled with lowercase sentence starters, fragments, cussing, a couple vague s*xual references. It’s a brain barf. 

[day 1]

This is Hue. He's a werewolf boi-o and one of the shortest characters i've made so far, clocking in at 4'10". you can just barely see his bite scars under the arm hair I decided that John shouldn't be entirely partner-less because Blaze decided to be stubborn and not embrace the gay. Cause that's just unfair to john. Like, Blaze said no, John respects that, so John moves on. 

No matter how much I rlly rlly want the two to be together. 

so anyway is seems that John has a Type. smol grumpy and easy to fluster I mean, in terms of potential romantic partners. in terms of Hotness and potential one-night-stands and such he's more physically attracted to guys in snappy suits and confidence like raknu but also not raknu himself because it'd be weird to bang your boss.

[day 2]

[insert some Spoilery Things about Alchemy Brothers from my World Of Glass And Bone and my character I’m basing Hue off of. This is also a first - usually I don’t base one character off of another. I did it in this case to absolutely make 100% sure that Hue’s personality doesn’t end up being like a Blaze2.0.]

[....] cause like, yeah, I made him with the intent of finding an Actual Partner for John, but I don't want that to be his Entire Personality. I don't want him to just be off-brand discount walmart version of Blaze. I've never done this before k. Like, usually I make characters, and then decide relationships to other people, not the other way around. And now I'm just Worried and low-key Freaking Out that he won't be seen as anything more than a Blaze-wannabe.

[day 3]

so THIS is how love triangles get started, huh - throwing in Hue threw a wrench into things. so like we got John and Blaze, right? they're like. bestest buds. John is like, the only person that Blaze really actually feels completely comfortable around. and like, a big part of the reason why Blaze doesn't want to be in an Actual Official Relationship is a lot of smaller very valid reasons. 

 1) he's in denial that it's even a thing he wants at all. All relationships end in Bad Things - either death as Blaze outlives them, or breakups, or deception and misunderstanding, or other Fun Things like that. So why the fuck would he want to put himself through that again? 

2) he still gets nightmares about Alex and not over that 3) all past relationships have been either abusive or at least a little bit Toxic - including alex (just as the nature of the culture, and the social power difference between people and vampires, toxic masculinity, just straight up assholes with a pretty face, ect) and that's just sorta the standard, normal thing that Blaze expects to happen with relationships in general. So it's showing a little bit of growth on Blazes part by saying no to the perceived toxicity, but still misunderstanding what a normal relationship is. 

 4) he's still not sure he's part gay. Like, he was Trying Out A Thing with Alex and he didn't get enough time to process it or really tell if that's something for him.

5) Blaze is asexual and sex-repulsed, and John is Horny. Not that John would do anything that Blaze is uncomfortable with - just the idea that Blaze is holding John back from something that he really wants to do while simultaneously being really stuck on the idea of monogamy and being uncomfortable with the idea ofo John being with anyone else sexually if they're in a relationship. 

 6) and fear that if he says yes then He's Stuck. can't back out, can't break off, without losing John completely as a friend (which is not something John would do even if they did break off for whatever reason). but it's still intense fear, and strongly supported by the idea of 'history repeats itself'. 

 7) he's also still low-key weirded out by the thought that John was assigned female at birth and while he's Getting Better at that and normalizing it. Being closer than friends before he's finished sorting things out in his head properly only brings up those weirded out feelings more intensely and more frequently until it becomes a potential point of conflict. If they were to ever be a thing, it'd take a lot of time before it started up, for Blaze to be 100% okay and Chill and properly sort through his head around John being trans. Not that Blaze would ever insult or weaponize that against john or anything, just personally working through centuries of stigma/sterotypes/ect and trying to get to a point where that thought isn't weird or bad anymore.

and a few other little reasons here and there but those are the big main ones in the way between a Blaze and John relationship. and I've been trying to keep that in mind when writing stories between them, cause John would totally go out with Blaze, and if Blaze didn't have those blocks, then he'd totally be open to a relationship with John too. 

Like, blaze low-key has a crush on John too. And I ship is so hard. And I want it to be a thing but I feel it's unfair to Blaze's character and all the stuff he has to work through himself before he's mentally stable enough to be able to have a healthy relationship with anyone. 

 and like maybe if no one else existed, yeah, sure, they'd get together at some point but like John isn't going to wait years for the possibility of a relationship with a person who already said 'no'.

So anyway, Hue comes on scene, right? 

John is spending more time with Hue and due to the nature of time being limited and the fact that often John operates seperately in Hero Team Missions (he's a spellcaster where the others aren't - he can do a lot of behind the scenes things that the others can't) 

Blaze finds himself really really wanting John's company more which makes him question why the fuck and therefore come to the realization that yeah okay fuck fine he's part gay but what the fuck ever John's with someone else already so.

so he's trying to shove down those annoyin' fckn feelings of jealousy, and also starting to distance himself from John and also throwing in some self-hate for missing his chance because Everything Blaze Does has to be low-key toxic (bad blaze stop it-) 

and once there's something you Want that's out of reach, suddenly you start forgetting about the reasons why you didn't go for it in the first place when it was available which means at least some of the other barriers are temporarily forgotten - at least, until John is available again, then they'd re-surface with vengeance and more self-hate because now-is-you're-chance-what-are-you-waiting-for - 

so anyway Blaze is a (valid) Dramatic Bitch who can't make up his goddamn mind

And right now I'm trying to figure out the new dynamic, and how things end there. 

 I'm like maybe 20% sure that they might end up turning it into a poly relationship instead of a love triangle 

John would be down for that Hue would be down for that 

it all just depends on Blaze and his dumb stupid (meant lovingly, they're still valid) limitations and quirks and trauma and shit.

there's nothing solid yet but the idea of it being turned into a poly relationship is rlly appealing to me

also 

blaze needs a therapist

I'm pretty sure that's the first time I've said that and I don't know why I haven't said it sooner but Blaze needs a therapist.

vampires getting therapists isn't something that ever happens for lots of stupid and dumb (not valid) reasons but maybe maaaayyyyybeeeeeee Raknu can pull some strings, talk to some people, ya know. Maybe try and find a therapist who's willing to come in and try and talk to a vampire with hundreds of years of Shit.

raknu can claim it's for the good of the team, and teamwork, and shiz. I mean, having a vampire on a hero team at all is a New Thing, Blaze was one of the first. So obviously, there'll the other New Things that arise from this, that can bypass stupid rules

well I guess for Blaze to see a therapist Blaze would have to actually be willing to ya know.

that's more unlikely than raknu being able to call one in that's open to it 

Blaze does not have a very good opinion on therapists. Blaze thinks they're all quacks and wishy-washy idiots

I think what would be required for Blaze to see a therapist would be for someone he sees as similar to him - not wishy-washy, negativity and toxic central, similar opinion of therapists in general - to go in and see one first, and actually be helped and have their life improved. 

then maybe blaze would give it a try and-

it all comes back to HUE! 

Hue goes to therapy which then convinces Blaze to accept therapy which means Blaze can actually Work Through Some Of His Shit 

and then we can have a valid Poly Relationship with John and Blaze and Hue and it wouldn't have been possible without Hue which low-key starts them off in a positive relationship, which is bolstered by John really liking Hue, and therefor Blaze has someone else he can Really Actually Enjoy And Feel Comfortable Around instead of being stuck on just John 

Bonus Little Story Thing For Making It This Far:

Blaze tentatively kisses the top of Smol John’s head, giving a hesitant little smile. John blushes and grins, leaning against the vampire. 

Glancing up though, Blaze sees Hue with a raised eyebrow and a an amused smirk.

A very intense possessiveness washes over Blaze. Blaze makes direct eye contact with Hue. 

“aAURG!! wHAt the HECK!!!” John exclaims as Blaze’s teeth firmly rest on his back, pressing him into the tongue protecting him from the vampire’s bottom teeth. 

Blaze lifts John up from his hand like that, pulling his tongue in and bringing John with it. John fumbles for an oxygen tank from his pockets. 

Blaze maintains eye contact with Hue the entire time, swallowing the small form. 

Hue is amused, a little disturbed, but mostly confused. 

Finally Hue breaks the silence. “Couldn’t resist such a snacc, huh?”
